I can’t believe that last spring we lived 2,000+

I can’t believe that last spring we lived 2,000+ miles away and I was planning 2022 engagement sessions….. and now I’m east coast living again and already planning 2023 engagements with my new brides! Time goes by so quick! But here’s the thing with engagement sessions: they are SO IMPORTANT.

There’s a reason why they’re offered as a complimentary addition to my wedding package, and it’s because it is a game changer for your wedding day.

Here’s a few reasons why:

1. It breaks the ice. It enables the you (the bride & groom) and I to get to know each other in real life, rather than just over the phone and through email.

2. You get used to the massive camera in front of you and after the first 10-15 min or so, you forget how intimidating it was when you started just a few min prior.

3. It’s time together before the busyness of your wedding day to have professional photographs together! Life happens QUICK after a wedding, trust me!

4. You become acquainted with how I work as your photographer! You are introduced to poses and movements that you’ll remember for your wedding day and they will feel like second nature, so the first time I’m asking you to do something isn’t when you’re in a tux and beautiful bridal gown.

5. It’s great practice and just plain fun. I’ve never had a couple walk away regretting their engagement session. I typically - seriously!! - hear the groom say how much fun he had before the bride. There’s something to be said about having the grooms in front of the camera BEFORE the big day. It helps them relax and gain confidence!

….I could go on and on with what I’ve experienced over the years. But other than the five reasons above, I love getting to know my clients and actually having a friendship with them so all parties are comfortable moving forward ✨

Engagement sessions are the best, and as I said, life after your wedding day can change quickly!… as the two beautiful people above are expecting their first baby this spring 🤍🤍🤍🤍

Katey & Nick had one of the most beautiful days of 2023 yet for their engagement session in downtown Pittsburgh!!! They are an inspiring couple (not to mention very handsome together!) and they seriously made my job so easy. I’m so excited for their wedding in September! 🤍

Over here celebrating the 5th day of Christmas wit

Over here celebrating the 5th day of Christmas with pancakes and cleaning for special company to join us for the weekend!!! We had our first snowy Christmas, complete with a few frozen pipes (that unfroze Christmas morning!) + insane cold temps below zero 😅 and a beautiful Christmas Eve mass at our new parish. It ended up being a peaceful day where I got to sit down and read the @theember.co winter issue (finally!) with a homemade latte, while the kids played in their PJS.. a Christmas miracle!! ❄️

WE MADE IT to our new home in… eastern Ohio! The last two months have been an absolute whirlwind and finding time to post any updates on social media was non-existent. But it was an extremely eventful, exhausting and hard working October & November for our family! We are still working out some details, but we are looking forward to spending Christmas in our new state and getting back to business in terms of.. basically everything 😅 we are so thankful for the help and prayers along the way!!

And we literally couldn’t be more excited to be in the same time zone as our family, and so close to them again! Never did I think when we were in Pittsburgh in May to photograph a wedding, that we’d be calling that region home just a few months later!! But God is good and I think this is going to be so good for our family! We’ll be house/land hunting for a little while upon arriving, but I will be opening my business back up once we’re there this fall!!! 🍂

They had a beautiful day, surrounded by a lot of family (which made it so amazing), and I’m excited for them to start their lives together in the same time zone! It’s always such an honor to capture these days/moments, and I’m forever grateful for this incredible blessing!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Malone!! This wedding on Saturday was insanely beautiful. Alex and Mariah chose to have a Latin mass said for their wedding mass, featuring two unique traditions: the Lazo tradition and The Cross of Christ tradition, from the country of Herzegovina. I’ll be detailing these more in my blog because it’s truly something worth reading and understanding because it’s true and beautiful!! But for now, here’s a sneak peak at their beautiful day!

I haven’t posted nor put my face on here for almost all summer because, in truth, I needed an social media break!! Back this week because it’s wedding season for me here for the next month, and I’m pumped to be back to doing what I love with the best clients around ⛪️✨ I have quite the announcement coming up regarding the future of my photography business, but I’m waiting to share it until some things are finalized and settled! Europe will always have a spot on my IG grid. I can’t believe we were here years ago already 🥺 where does the time go!? I was just talking about this beautiful place yesterday with a friend.. and then I spent the past two hours looking at old photos from our years overseas. Sometimes it feels like it never happened, and other times it feels like yesterday. I’ll always consider it one of God’s greatest blessings, along with the little people he blessed us with while we were there (see belly in pic number 2 for proof) 🤍
