This was my first engagement session since moving from New Mexico in November and it was an absolute breath of fresh air to get out behind the camera again!! Not only that, but this particular day was clear and beautiful and thankfully on the warmer-side for February. It's obvious that Katey & Nick are a very photogenic couple, so that made my job from start to finish extremely easy and I had a great time with them during our time together!
We kicked off their engagement session down on the Pittsburgh North Shore Riverwalk, which provided the perfect backdrop of the city. Some of my absolute favorite engagement photos of all time were underneath the Roberto Clemente Bridge; the colors were just spectacular!
Our next quick stop was the Seventh Street Bridge for a few minutes, which again, provided a pretty epic backdrop!
Our final stop was Elizabeth Lake Park, which is just north of the riverwalk. We walked about half of the park, and it provided us with some green trees, which Katey was hopeful for, more water, and some unique architecture, so it worked out perfectly!
Although both are alum of the University of Pittsburgh, where they met in the Army ROTC program there, neither Nick nor Katey live in the city anymore. Being as though they’re both in the military, life and work has therefore created a long distance engagement for them, which from personal experience, is rewarding yet challenging! They placed this season in God’s hands from the start, which is so admirable and inspiring, and really the only thing you can do!
They decided to have their wedding in Pittsburgh this fall at one of the most beautiful parishes in town, and I am really excited to see these two again and am of course so honored to photograph it!!
Nick and Katey, thank you both so much for placing your trust in me as your photographer this year!! I hope you love these as much as I do, and I can’t wait to hang with you both again in September!!
Thanks for reading!!
