Gregory & Mary | A Timeless Latin Mass Wedding

Mary was the absolute sweetest bride, and one of the sweetest I’ve encountered in the last five years of photographing weddings. Her genuine nature and kindness was exemplified by how many friends and loved ones travelled to be with her on her special day, and from the emotions radiated by her brothers and parents. God gifted her with such a faith-filled spirit, that I think everyone at the reception had tears in their eyes when her father described her love for the Blessed Mother, ever since she was a young child. It was wonderful for me to witness, and to of course also photograph her day, starting in the morning at the AirBNB that the girls and Mary’s family stayed at for the weekend. Her details were simply beautiful, and the invitation and touches of blue really made for pretty detail photographs! 

Mary chose for her bridesmaids to wear a mix of floral colored and patterned dresses, and I wouldn’t have been able to pick a favorite if I tried! and I really like the way they all photographed together!  Some of my favorite images were once we arrived at the church, and the girls prayed with Mary in the baptismal chapel.  There was only one small window, so the light was limited, but I think it helped create rather mystical and beautiful images of Mary with her veil on before walking down the aisle. 

Mary and Greg chose to celebrate their union with a Traditional Latin Mass at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Pittsburgh.  The church is in the order of Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, which draws it’s roots from the deep treasure of the ancient traditions of the Roman Catholic Church and faith, which can be traced back throughout all centuries of Christianity, to the early Church and Saints who have passed through Heaven’s gates before us. 

Following Holy Mass, the reception was absolutely on fire with a fun time held by all. I don’t think I’ve seen so many chair and people lifts at a wedding reception YET, to include a “hora” (chair holding) of the bride and groom!
