Jared & Kathryn | A Gorgeous and Colorful Autumn Wedding in Pittsburgh

The morning of their wedding day started at Kathryn’s family home.  She prepped with her bridesmaids and mom, and shared a special first look moment with her dad in the backyard before departing for St. Bernards.  Jared and Kathryn exchanged letters privately in a corridor of the church, just shortly before mass began.  I ended up taking a few phone notes during the homily, because I thought the message was beautiful! … Father was explaining that, “Is is not good for man to be alone, a spouse completes you. With the Lord at the center of your marriage, there is a re-creation that takes place…” [in reference to the book of Genesis and of Christ and his Bride, the church].  

After mass ended, we completed family portraits and then spent some time in the church courtyard for the bulk of the bridal party portraits and initial bride and groom portraits. Following this, we stopped at a park en route to the reception just in time for the most beautiful fall sunset I’ve been able to capture in a good while!! The light in these portraits in particular is just amazing, you’ll see them below!

At the reception, Jared and Kathryn surprised their guests with a choreographed dance which left everyone smiling! The guest speeches were moving and so meaningful, and there were certainly some teary eyes in the audience.  The dance floor was certainly alive with a live band to encourage dancing, and I was so thankful to share this night with Jared, Kathryn and their families!
