Albuquerque, New Mexico

Zac and Rachel's day was filled with so many family and friends who gathered to celebrate their marriage union in Christ, and it was a gorgeous day to witness!! Together, they planned a few unique moments for me to capture, to include a first prayer prior to mass let by the Groom-to-be, and then at the reception in place of a garter toss, Zac washed Rachel's feet to imitate the love of Jesus... SO beautiful. They also hosted an anniversary dance in which Zac's grandparents won, having just celebrated their 61st year of marriage!
Rachel’s day started at her parent’s residence, surrounded by her bridesmaids, parents and three brothers. Rachel’s mom helped her to get into her dress and place her veil in her hair. She then had a first look when coming down the stairs with her dad prior to heading over to Saint Bernadette’s Shrine. Once at the shrine, Zac and Rachel shared a first prayer together in a specific spot that they had picked out prior to the day, and it was absolutely the perfect spot!
Their wedding mass was beautiful, said Ad Orientem, by a friend of theirs, Father Jordan, who I had been privileged to have met last year through the ABQ Magazine! Following mass, we took family formals and then headed to a nearby park for some Bride & Groom portraits. They were epic because of Rachel’s amazing cathedral length veil! After that, we all grabbed some gelato, and Zac was so sweet to treat!
The reception was a blast, as Rachel and Zac had wonderful toasts in their honor said by their fathers, maid of honor, and best man. Following that, we were able to venture up onto the hotel roof to take sunset portraits!!! These might be my favorite sunset portraits of all time in Albuquerque. We arrived up there at the PERFECT time, and the city lights provided some really neat bokeh for the background!
Rachel and Zac, many congratulations to you both and continued prayers for you as you enter into this exciting new chapter of your lives!!! It was an honor for me to capture this special day for you, and I hope you love this highlight of your wedding day!
