I know the light in New Mexico is typically pretty dreamy come time for sunset, but I feel as though the glow was extra gorgeous for Kaitlyn & Shane's winter engagement session in the Albuquerque foothills! Hanging out with these two was wonderfully relaxing, and the conversation flowed pretty easily, which is always such a gift!! These two high school sweethearts are getting married later this fall, in just 10 short months!
We started their engagement session in an arroyo in the foothills, and moved to a total of SIX follow-on locations within 60 minutes and about a half mile radius! We definitely made sure to stop at my favorite little stone house for a few shots as the sun got a little lower in the sky. The stone provides such beautiful texture in photos, and also compliments the light and just about any outfit choice possible.
I’ve only met a few couples who were high school sweethearts…. and Kaitlyn and Shane fit the bill perfectly! They have been together for seven years now, and Shane just popped the question at their house-warming party last year! He asked her in front of all their friends and family, which I absolutely love!!!
Initially, they were considering the Bosque as their engagement session location because of the cottonwood trees that are a local favorite. However, they settled on the foothills, which is never a bad choice because of the beautiful light and scenery….. and you still get pops of GREEN in the desert!
There are so many beautiful images from this session as a whole, it was quite hard selecting to showcase just these few. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy this little snapshot into some of my favorites! Shane and Kaitlyn, thank you both for trusting me and I hope you love them!!

Thanks for reading!!
